for School Days, School Days, Dear Old Golden Rule Days

I thought I better put in a little something positive with all my 'rant' posts *smile*.

We began another official year of school on Monday. The first week is going pretty well so far, and the kids seem to be getting into our new routine - well, Marlee and David any way. I have high hopes for Jacob - but he's not quite there yet...lol.

Anyhoo - I thought I would share a note from our nearly 18 year-old daughter that was on my desk Monday morning as we began a new (school) year...

Good Morning, Blessed ~

Are you ready for another year? I think you are officially becoming one of the 'veterans' now. No wonder why you're so smart! This year is going to go great - just remember it's all for God and the future generations He is going to establish. Every moment you take today is one more moment in time your legacy will live on! We're praying for you!

Love, Sis

PS - Have I told you lately that I love you? Have I told you lately that I care? Have I told you lately what you mean to me? If not...I love you! and I care! and I'd go all the way around the world a million times and back again for you!

God is so incredibly good! It's little nuggets like the above that He gives to me every now and again that tells me I truly am blessed - that reminds me to keep on keeping on - steadfastly running the race He has set before me. He reminds me that living life for Him - and doing what we can to raise our kids for His glory is beyond anything this world can offer.

I think some of you can attest to having the feelings some days of falling miserably short as a Mom - at least I hope so - for my sake *smile*! Some days the heart cry is "Lord, I can't do it anymore. This is too difficult. I give up!" At those times, He whispers gently that He is there - and some times, some times He sends a message directly to you - like He sent to me on our first day of our school year.

I thank God for all the children He has placed in our care - to raise and nurture them, as a loving helpmeet to my husband, in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

It doesn't get much better than that.

Not much better, indeed! Thank You, Lord for small rays of hope and light along the path! What a blessing your young lady is, Camille (I know you know this ;o) ). I'm glad for you that you received that blessing. ... Now, if we could just keep those kinds of notes coming on a regular basis... ;o)

Blessings,

Kristen on the west (or is that Wet?) side :o)
