for all things Amish!

I recently read another book in the Daughters of Promise series by author Beth Wiseman. I love the series name - 'Daughters of Promise'. She does an excellent job of bringing out the meaning of that phrase. We are, as women, Daughters of Promise!

If you love all things Amish, and exploring their world I don't think you'll be disappointed in this series. First there was Plain Perfect where we met Lillian Miller. Next we were introduced to Sadie Fisher in Plain Promise, now we get to explore Amish country with Carley Mareck in Plain Pursuit.

In Plain Pursuit, we follow Carley from Houston to Lancaster County as she learns to quiet the demons that haunt her and she learns to open herself to God's plan for her life. Woven throughout the story are the timeless truths that God's ways are not our ways and the reminder that, while each of us follow the Lord, we are not perfect - and may do some things 'in the name of God' that truly bring Him no honor or glory. We are taught between the lines to bear with one another in love. Add to that a great story line - and some fantastic characters - and you will be thoroughly blessed for spending some time in Paradise and Bird-in-Hand!

Another great feature of this book are the recipes in the back!!! As a matter of fact - we had Amish night just a few nights ago. I was busy in the kitchen making bread, Baked Corn casserole and the meatloaf recipe featured in the back of the book! What a fun experience!!!

For those of you in book clubs - there are also discussion questions in the back of the book to get your thoughts flowing!
