In a few short days, we will be celebrating Victoria's graduation from high school. I mentioned earlier that she already finished her high school classes and has begun her college work (I'll post on this later), but we still wanted to have our friends and family over so they could take part in this accomplishment.
Along with this celebration, in another couple of months, she'll be 18. I can't believe it! I know everyone of those years - and yet, where did they all go? It wasn't too long ago that I was that new mom. It actually took about 11 months for it to finally sink in that I was this person's MOM! Her Mom! I was a MOM! No one ever told me that I'd have those confused feelings - and yet it wasn't really confusion - it was more a disbelief - if that makes sense. Did you other Moms ever feel this way?
Any way - as I think over the years - there were good ones, there were not so good ones - but I wouldn't trade a one of them in. There are funny stories - like the time after she was first born and I thought that was mustard on my finger - and tender stories - when she greeted each of her siblings. I have watched her grow from a tom-boy to a very feminine, strong, godly young woman, and I stand in awe.
I thank God for this daughter, and His abundant grace!
I still sit back and think - 'Wow, I'm her Mom!' I guess I still have a bit of that disbelief - and yet, it's not really disbelief any longer, but more of a wonderment.
My mom used to tell me the days would go by in a flash - I never really could understand that - some things you just have to experience for yourself. Now, I'm experiencing - my little girl isn't so little anymore - she is an amazing young woman!
She went from:
to:
in the blink of an eye (or so it seems!). I'm still Mom - and I've enjoyed the journey tremendously thus far! Are you enjoying yours??

Sis
Wow! Congratulations Victoria! (a year late!)
Dad and Mom are always telling us kids how fast the time flies. I'm not too old yet, but already I'm beginning to understand, time is short. :-)
